Hi! My name is Owen and before heading off to college, I am taking a gap year to volunteer with STEM Inspires, a non-profit which introduces robotics and STEM education to middle and high school students in Rwanda.
The incredible team-based robotics experiences I’ve had for the past 6 years have had a huge impact on my life and I cannot imagine where I would be today without them. It will be a great privilege to help bring those same opportunities to kids in Rwanda and I’m excited to share everything I’ve learned from helping to launch the robotics programs at my own school.
While I am in Rwanda, STEM Inspires is generously providing housing and in-country transportation and I have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover all other costs.
Any level of support would be greatly appreciated!
We are also looking for corporate sponsors to help cover the costs of materials, robotic game “kits”, and setting up an FTC makerspace in Kigali. If you are interested in being a corporate sponsor, please reach out to STEM Inspires directly.
